Lack of improved water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) systems and food security needs a multifaceted solution, particularly in the Gamo Highlands of Ethiopia. Our project tackles these challenges via research, education, outreach, and capacity building guided by ‘Leave No One Behind, Interconnectedness, and Multistakeholder Partnerships' principles. Research addresses root causes and dynamics of existing problems, while targeted training empowers local stakeholders and end users. Systematic outreach plays a key role in providing evidence-based scientific knowledge, disseminating findings, communicating practical strategies, and engaging with communities for sustainable change. The project outputs will integrate climate-resilient WASH interventions with climate-resilient agricultural practices to achieve Sustainable Development Goals of Zero Hunger (SDG2) and Clean Water and Sanitation (SDG6) and to contribute to Quality Education, Gender Equality, and Climate Action (SDG 4, 5, 13).
