General

CU2024TEA543A105 01/09/2024 - 31/08/2029 Primary medical assistance in Cuba requires transformations to reach the UN SDGs. The lack of technological support is one of the factors to be tackled. The current project combines, in a multi-stakeholder approach, the introduction of Cuban medical technologies with educational actions in close connection with the national industry as a way of change. New scientific results obtained from joint research activities will lead to high added value technologies. Expertise domains from different actors (hospitals, industry as well as Cuban and Flemish universities) are combined in order to provide a better service for the whole population. The proposal is focused on SDG3 (target 3.4) but will also impact SDG4 (targets 4.4 and 4.c), SDG9 (target 9.5) and SDG17 (target 17.6). It is aligned with the directives of the Cuban Ministry of Science and Technology and responds to the needs of the primary assistance institutions in Cuba.
