This project aligns with the concept of plurinationality in Agenda 2020-2030’s principle of “Leave No One Behind” (LNOB) and specifically with SDG 4 (Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all) and SDG 10 (Reduce inequalities within and among countries). We address the overall challenge of enhancing intercultural competencies (IC) of teacher trainers (TT) by focusing on the topic of ‘intercultural identity’ in order to innovate current didactical and pedagogical approaches and promote Educational Inclusion. Teacher education is the main pathway to ensure that changes can be sustained over time and for several generations. Four South-partners (Universidad Técnica del Norte in Ecuador, Royal University of Phnom Penh in Cambodia, North-West University in South Africa and Jimma University in Ethiopia) and PXL University of Applied Sciences and Arts will offer together an innovative and practice-based ITP for teacher trainers and pre-service students. From every HEI there will be at least two TT, funded by this project, where at least 40% of all cadidates are female. Through the enrolment of all participants (future change agents) in an e-course, during the pre-training programme, we create a Professional Learning Community (PLC). During a specific training week, and in cooperation with LABIOMISTA, participants will collaborate on educational topics and exchange inclusive teaching practices. Also, a practice-based culturally sensitive framework and hands-on toolkit will be introduced as a ‘guideline’ for future lesson plans. During the post-training programme participants stay connected through the e-course and the project of ‘My Equator’. All involved HEIs can include their partner schools by sharing good practices on the link between Educational inclusion and the SDG’s.
