SI-KAWSAYTA AWANACHEJ* – A Bolivian community learning-research network in sustainable territorial governance and management

BO2022TEA495A105 01/09/2022 - 31/08/2027 Sustainable development in Bolivia has been linked to the integrated management of territorial planning. This concept promotes efficient use and management of "life systems"[1] as a pre-condition for "living well" while reducing negative anthropogenic and climate change impacts on the environment. This project seeks to strengthen territorial governance and management by bridging academic knowledge with Indigenous and Local Knowledge (ILK) and reaching policymakers by building a transdisciplinary learning-research community. The project is a demand from local partners to (1) enhance teaching and research capacities in sustainable territorial governance and management, (2) develop comprehensive training in territorial management, (3) up-skilling the capacities of rural municipalities through workforce development, (4) contributing to the development of participatory multi-level governance with emphasis on the inclusion of non-state actors, women and young people, and (5) forging encounters for seeding and weaving futures of life.
