General

Developmental overall objective : To reduce food insecurity and malnutrition by increased utilization of improved and new food products in sub-Saharan Africa Academic overall objective : To enhance the JKUAT scientific capacity and knowledge base in food science and technology with focus on plant-based foods

Results

Developmental specific objective: To enhance the use of beans in Kenya by developing energy-efficient integrated processing solutions to produce a diverse range of highly nutritious products with high consumer acceptability. Academic specific objective: JKUAT FST becomes a center of excellence in legume research, training and extension through increased human capacity building and collaborations.
