General

- Academic overall objective (related to the capacity building of the university): UCB universities in Bolivia have the training and research capacity to generate and disseminate knowledge about socio-economical risk factors and their developmental consequences, which is relevant and useful to understand and reciprocate bio-psycho-social problems in children and adolescents. - Developmental overall objective (benefits for the society): Bolivian communities dispose of improved care for children, adolescents and families at risk to counter and decrease bio-psycho-social problems due to migration, social exclusion and poverty, as a result of adequate prevention and intervention offered by local organizations and policy makers

Results

The specific academic objective of the project is to enrich master and doctoral training and research in the UCB Departments of Psychology and/or Pedagogy of La Paz, Cochabamba and Santa Cruz by scientific knowledge, research methodology and expertise in socio-economical risk factors and their bio-psycho-social consequences for children and adolescents. The specific developmental objective is that public and private organizations and policy makers in La Paz/El Alto, Cochabamba and Santa Cruz have improved knowledge and understanding of risk factors and their bio-psycho-social consequences, which they use in prevention and intervention activities for children, adolescents and families at risk in local urban communities
