General

The overall developmental objective is to contribute to an improvement of quality of health care in Ecuador through better training of future and current family doctors, explicitly linking local needs of the people to future programmes. The overall academic objective is: -to promote better training of future and current family doctors, linked to the local needs and experiences. -to develop and strengthen academic departments of PHC and FM within medical faculties/universities, so that they can develop and assure better training at undergraduate and postgraduate level in the coming years

Results

1. to identify the strengths and gaps in PHC and family practice, and medical education in Ecuador (RESEARCH) 2. to revise, rebuild and evaluate the core curriculum PHC/FP at different levels of training (undergraduate, postgraduate and continuing medical education) (CAPACITY BUILDING 3. to disseminate the products of the project through presentation of the results to the different stakeholders in Ecuador, disseminating the products of the project. (EXTENSION)
