General

A critical group of people in Flanders and Brussels is convinced of the need for systemic change and international solidarity, and takes joint action, in connection with a worldwide movement. Through awareness-raising, training and exchange activities, we want to convince a critical group of people in Flanders and Brussels of the need for systemic change and international solidarity. After all, fundamental systemic change and redistribution are necessary conditions to achieve an economy that offers people worldwide the chance of a good life within the limits of the planet. In June 2018, Science Magazine published a study that showed that only a minority of 25 percent is needed to reorient society. Working on global solidarity, especially against the backdrop of shrinking space for civil society, is an important lever to mobilise a critical mass for change. In order to gather this group of people, we can count on a large, loyal support base. In addition, we will work on renewing our network of volunteers. This must rejuvenate, grow and become more diverse. By providing new insights, raising awareness and training in systemic change, these volunteers in turn become ambassadors for systemic change. Through concrete events and activities we give people perspectives for action. By doing so, we create a breeding ground for solidarity. By working together with other actors from civil society, communities in the diaspora and partners from the partner countries, a global movement for systemic change can be built. This movement must be supported by a clear communication strategy in order to reach a wider audience. Global solidarity can only start from equal relationships. That is why we want to review our own organization and way of working and start a dialogue with partners from a deep decolonial reflex. Broederlijk Delen will set up an innovation trajectory to examine and rethink prevailing ways of thinking, structures and strategies. The results of this trajectory should lead to a new approach where 'decompartmentalization' and 'equality' are central.
