General

PWDs in the West Bank, especially youth and women, are skilled, empowered and actively engaged in decent education and work of their choosing, be it waged or self-employed The objective of the programme is to reach out to vulnerable people with disabilities by providing rehabilitation, educational and economic empowerment services within the communities in order to facilitate their socio-economic inclusion in the West Bank. An integrated approach is developed to improve the accessibility of these vulnerable groups to different services. To achieve this, the programme focuses on : - Supporting a network of community and vocational training centres to provide inclusive education and TVET. - The provision of specific assessment and career guidance services to direct persons with disabilities to clear career paths and choices. - The provision of economic empowerment services for people with disabilities so that they can gain the skills needed, and then create their own jobs or be supported in their transition to paid employment. - Building the capacity of community-based structures to ensure better inclusion within their services. - Advocating for the rights of PWDs on the local and national level. The programme also aims to strengthen and organize people with disabilities so that they are able to advocate for their rights with duty bearers and ensure their inclusion in society. Local authorities are targeted to increase the rights of PwDs in mainstreaming disability and inclusion in their strategies and actions plans. Finally, the programme aims to build the capacity of the local Palestinian partner to become a reference hub for disability issues
