General

All male and female learners have equal opportunities to quality education which provides them with capabilities they require to become economically productive, develop sustainable livelihoods, contribute to peaceful and democratic societies and enhance individual wellbeing. Ce programme vise l'amélioration des résultats d'apprentissage en augmentant les compétences des Directeurs des écoles primaires en ‘Educational School Leadership’.

Results

Primary school head teachers focus on appropriate teaching, monitoring and follow-up strategies to improve learning outcomes of all learners in literacy, numeracy and life skills.

Atteinte des résultats estimée entre 90 et 100%. 397 Head Teachers were certified and were awarded a Continuous Professional Development Diploma on effective school leadership . It contributed significantly to their job profile therefore secure their positions as school leaders With VVOB’ technical coaching support, training materials and assessments tools were developed by the REB/SLMU, as the unit responsible for the quality of School leadership in Rwanda. VVOB coached and mentored the REB/SLMU in training and assessing HTs on these norms and standards as they are the basis of the CPD programme. VVOB played a key role of linkage and technical advisory between the two institutions that are REB and URCE. This role is ensured through shadowing and peer learning. At sector level, professional learning networks for head teachers have been established. 120 SEOs were trained in guiding and coaching these networks.
