Widening support for the rights of all children, with a specific focus on the most vulnerable children in the South KIYO Children's rights

“Het verbreden van het draagvlak voor de rechten van alle kinderen, met specifieke aandacht voor de meest kwetsbare kinderen in het Zuiden”. Realizing children’s rights requires by definition both: Empowerment and an active role of the rights-holders - children and youth who benefit from our actions - rather than regarding them as passive objects of assistance. Accountability and reinforcement of the impact of actions from the duty-bearers – civil society in general and public authorities in particular.

In the North, KIYO wants to build on the expertise gained and strengthen the choices made in the past, based on a children's rights approach, while at the same time putting some new focus on them. In the South, KIYO, together with its local partner organisations, will further develop and expand its expertise in the children's rights approach by expanding its current regions Brazil, the Philippines and the Great Lakes Region with new additional (or substitute) partners to ensure a larger reach, more impact and better efficiency per region strategically.
