Sharing expertise to support a conducive policy environment for better education interventions and outcomes in Belgian partner countries

In Belgium, dozens of organizations and individuals work in the training or education sector within development cooperation. As there was hardly any structural consultation between these actors, Educaid.be was launched in 2010. The platform strengths the capacity and expertise of its members, contributes to promoting complementarity and synergies between its members, and help further develop and support Belgian policy on education and development. It does this by creating a learning environment where participants share knowledge and where knowledge is built around specific education problems in the South and on successful methods to address them. Furthermore, the platform wants to contribute to policy-making, implementation and follow-up in Belgium regarding education and OS. Specific attention is paid to gender, environment and ICT through project groups dedicated to these themes. The platform also makes full use of various ICT tools, such as an interactive website and social media. This is a synergy program between VVOB and APEFE, and a collaboration with 48 other organizations and institutions.
