General

Within the broad sector of Basic Health Care, Red Cross Flanders's operational knowledge was most advanced in the domain of Water and Sanitation. In addition, this domain offers the opportunity for an added value through scientific research and its application in practice (Evidence Based Practice, EBP). Moreover, experience transfer and synergy is possible, in addition to economics of scale, because there is an ongoing commitment in the same region until 2016. Because of the expertise already built up on First Aid and the reference status that the Red Cross Flanders has achieved, First Aid remains a spearhead of the international operation of Red Cross Flanders, its expertise is further developed and transferred. Finally, strengthening the partner's capacity remains a transversal point of attention in the partner work.
