General

The objective of starting a similar process in Asia, after the development of European and African contextualised evidence-based First Aid guidelines and teaching materials, lies at the basis of the collaboration with the Indian Red Cross. The development of the Indian First Aid Manual and the pilot implementation in 3 States is the first step and essence of the intervention in the 3-year Action Plan (AP). The evaluation of the materials and test in the three States forms the basis for long-term cooperation. The next step is the further roll-out to other States. The extension of the First Aid directives to non-traditional sectors, such as to Ayurveda, is also possible.

Results

Increase the knowledge of non-experts of First Aid techniques and increase the willingness of the Indian population to offer First Aid in the event of accidents and incidents, especially on public roads.
