The project, titled "Pilier 3. Securite alimentaire et agriculture durable; Volet 1. Agriculture familiale et entreprenariat agricole et rural. Sud Kivu," is a governmental cooperation initiative in the Democratic Republic of Congo, specifically in the sector of Agriculture and livestock. Agricultural development. The project is implemented by Enabel and funded by the Direction Generale de la cooperation au Developpement (DGD). The project aims to improve local economic development and wellbeing through sustainable agriculture development, with a focus on smallholder farmers, particularly women. It operates in the province of Lomami, Sud Kivu. The project partners include various governmental institutions at the provincial level, such as the ETD (Entite Territoriale Decentralisee), the Assemblee Provinciale, and Services Techniques Decentralises. Additionally, non-governmental organizations like CARITAS, CAP CONGO, RACOJ, and Regroupements Acteurs Locaux are also involved, along with private entities such as FEC (Federation des Entreprises du Congo). The project's financing is sector-specific agriculture. The project's objectives align with the consolidation of democracy and the rule of law by strengthening governance, promoting, and respecting human rights.
