General

Expertise Programme de Coopération Burundi 2024-2028 The Expertise Programme de cooperation gouvernementale Burundi 2024-2028 is a project aimed at strengthening administrative costs, with a focus on sectors such as health and citizens' participation. The project aims to enhance access to healthcare services for vulnerable populations, particularly women, children, and marginalized individuals, throughout their lifecycle. It also seeks to understand the expectations, beliefs, and practices regarding health among the population, and to adapt and contextualize empowerment activities based on socio-anthropological studies in intervention zones. The project will also focus on developing a monitoring tool using the ICAP barometer, which has been successfully implemented in other countries, to track advancements in knowledge, attitudes, and practices among rights holders. Furthermore, the project will support community health workers, local committees, associations, clubs, and women's groups to promote participation in healthcare services. Communication activities will be organized by community agents from displaced populations to provide clear information to internally displaced persons (IDPs) and their host communities about healthcare rights, including mental health, how to access them, and the benefits of having a medical assistance card (CAM). The project will also address gender-based violence and reproductive health education, in collaboration with related interventions. Special attention will be given to internally displaced persons and refugees. A situational analysis will be conducted to document existing efforts in Communication for Development (C4D) for health in Burundi, leading to the development of a C4D plan for the duration of the project. Finally, a multi-faceted approach will be implemented, utilizing various relevant modalities and technologies such as local radio, social media, app development, theater groups, newspapers, peer-to-peer communication, etc., with specific budget and attention allocated to mental health, in line with output B.4.
