Expertise Portefeuille Guinée 2023 - 2027 The GUI-PC project, running from 2023 to 2027 in Guinea Republic (Sector unspecified), aims to implement sustainable and participatory resource management strategies, including watershed management, coastal protection, reforestation, among others. The agricultural council members and family farms are supported in their transition towards agroecology. The project also focuses on reducing gender inequalities in the agricultural sector by improving access to resources and revenue distribution, creating employment opportunities for youth and women in agriculture and agroecological services, and strengthening institutional actors at regional, prefectural, subprefectural, and communal levels in matters of natural resource preservation and sustainable agriculture development. Specific studies will be conducted to analyze the climate vulnerability of the region and the potential for local communities and actors to mitigate it, as well as evaluating the costs of ecosystem services. The choice of additional studies to be carried out will be made in consultation with stakeholders, and public tenders will be launched based on identified needs. The project's first activity will support local actors in both Kindia and Mamou regions to develop adapted strategies addressing climate change challenges and biodiversity preservation. The implementation sequence will start in Kindia, where we have a better understanding of the stakeholders. Activities in Mamou will commence in year 2.
