Phasing out Water and Sanitation Kigoma Region Project (WaSKiRP)

The project is rehabilitating existing water supply assets and constructing new ones while preparing the capacity of local communities and the Rural Water Supply Agency (RUWASA) to manage the infrastructure funded by the project. The Phasing out Water and Sanitation Kigoma Region Project (WaSKiRP), a water supply and sanitation project in Tanzania, aims to contribute towards equitable development and poverty reduction among rural communities in the Kigoma region. This project is funded by Enabel under governmental cooperation and falls under the sector of Water supply and sanitation. Large systems within the top sector of Water and sanitation (14xxx). The specific objective of WaSKiRP is to increase access to safe and clean water and sanitation services, reduce the burden related to water and sanitation among communities in Kigoma region, particularly for women and youths, and use water as a social and economic commodity through sustainable interventions on water supply and hygiene practices.
