Green and decent jobs for youth (WeWork) - Busoga

The intervention logic follows the framework structure where on the supply-side of the labour market, the portfolio will target increased employability of youth (Result Domain 1) by: (1) Promotion of TVET for green economy and for agriculture as employment pathways; (2) Demanddriven formal and non-formal skills development, and; (3) General employment services ensuring that work-ready youth actually access decent jobs. Straddling the supply and demand side, Result Domain 2 aims to create new businesses that offer decent jobs through (4) Entrepreneurship promotion. Finally on the demand side, the portfolio will aim to create more decent jobs and training opportunities by enhancing the sustainability and production of existing businesses (Result Domain 3). This will be achieved through 5) Enterprise development and 6) Value chain development in agriculture and the green economy. The WeWork project, titled Green and Decent Jobs for Youth in Busoga, Uganda, focuses on the Social Infrastructure. Employment policy and administrative management sector. This initiative aims to equip young people, particularly young women, with skills necessary for decent employment or entrepreneurship opportunities within agriculture and the green and sustainable economy. The project targets increased employability of youth through promotion of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) for both green economy and agriculture as viable employment pathways. Additionally, general employment services are provided to ensure work-ready youth secure decent jobs. Straddling both supply and demand sides of the labor market, the project also aims to create new businesses offering decent jobs through entrepreneurship promotion. Furthermore, it seeks to enhance the sustainability and production of existing businesses to generate more decent jobs and training opportunities.
