General

Building upon the successful progress and expansion of GSF’s work in 2022, 2023 will be a year to consolidate this growth and impact according to the organisation’s three pillars to Act, Advocate, and Guide. This will be achieved by building on existing projects, reinforcing the organisations’ operational core, and seeking new opportunities for advocacy and change. As results begin to emerge from its work around the globe, GSF intends to demonstrate to States and the international community that reparations for survivors of conflict-related sexual violence are feasible, affordable, and life-changing, as well as using existing outcomes as evidence to bolster future work and enhance access to reparations. - Global Reparations Study: The Study will continue into 2023 with a focus on the finalisation, publication, and launch of reports on Mali, Guatemala, Sri Lanka, and El Salvador. Potential countries to be included in the Global Reparations Study in 2023 include the Philippines, Libya, and Yemen. - ACT Pillar: GSF will look at continuing the projects in Iraq, CAR, Turkey (for Syrian survivors), and Nigeria with an emphasis on education as a form of reparation, and will open further Interim Reparative Measures projects in South Sudan, Guatemala, East Timor, Nepal, and potentially in Colombia - ADVOCATE Pillar: GSF will build upon the national advocacy initiatives that came to light through the Global Reparations Study and continue the work of disseminating the Kinshasa Declaration, making sure that it reaches national government agendas - GUIDE Pillar: GSF will continue to provide relevant technical assistance on reparations to the governments of DRC and Ukraine. GSF will also expand the reach of its technical expertise to key countries such as Colombia, Mali, Nepal, and Kenya based on the roadmap established by the Global Reparations Study
