The EU Facility for Refugees in Turkey for 2020-2023 – FriT 2 is a humanitarian aid project initiated in response to the ongoing refugee crisis, specifically focusing on material relief assistance and services in Turkey. This second tranche of funding follows the initial Facility established in 2015, which was a demonstration of the EU's commitment to supporting refugees in Turkey. The project aims to continue its cooperation with Turkey to address the crisis through stepped-up support for persons under temporary protection and migration management. The Facility combines both humanitarian and nonhumanitarian support, providing assistance such as monthly income support, Turkish language training, educational materials, primary health care, and vaccinations for refugees. The governance of the Facility allows a partnership approach between the EU and Member States, ensuring continuity of projects and uninterrupted support to refugees and persons eligible for subsidiary protection.
