Emergency Food Assistance and nutrition and resilience activities (DRC, CAR, Mali, Iraq, Syria).

WFP currently focuses more than 80% of its resources and capacities on life-saving interventions. Assistance is given through general food distribution linked to blanket and targeted supplementary feeding. This contribution will allow WFP to provide food assistance to 68,732 beneficiaries for one month.

The Belgian contribution of, € 1,000,000 will allow WFP to provide lifesaving assistance to IDPs in Central African Republic, under Activity 1 of its I-CSP: Provide general food distributions, nutritious food and/or cash-based transfers to refugees, IDPs, returnees and crisis-affected host communities. This contribution will allow WFP to provide food assistance to 68,732 beneficiaries for one month. The objectives for this project are in line with WFP Strategic Objective 1 - Targeted food-insecure populations affected by shocks are able to meet their basic food requirements in times of crisis as well as with WFP Strategic Objective 2 - Food-insecure and vulnerable populations in conflict-affected areas have improved nutritional status.
