General
The enerfgy sector is able to provide sufficent, reliable and affordable energy for all Rwandans. Since 2011 (ICP 2011-2014), Belgiium is supporting GoR efforts to scale up generation of electricity from renewable national resources. Private participation in sustainable electricity production is key. Therefore, GoR is promoting private sector's involvement in power generation through Independent Power Producers (IPP) an Private Public Partnerships (PPP) structures, through more investor-friendly environment (access to finance, legal and regulatory framework).
Results
The generation of electricity from renewable resources is increased by the participation of the private sector supported by the intervention.
