Als globale doelstelling stelt FOS zich tot doel om het recht op sociale bescherming af te dwingen voor bevolkingsgroepen in het Zuiden, met solidaire steun van de socialistische beweging in Vlaanderen.
Binnen het recht op sociale bescherming wordt nadruk gelegd op het recht op waardig werk en het recht op gezondheid en deze te promoten en af te dwingen voor mannen en vrouwen.
Promover y asegurar el derecho a la protección social de la población vulnerable (agricultores/as, trabajadores/as de maquila/ trabajadores/as autónomos/as en la economía informal, mujeres rurales y jóvenes), con enfoque particular en el derecho al trabajo decente y el derecho a la salud.
