General

The quality of peoples health, health system and health care services in 111 Panchayats concentrated in 28 blocks in 4 districts of West Bengal and 1 district in Sikkim is improved, strengthened and enhanced through a people centered partnership process with all stakeholders The Intervention of Memisa aims to * strengthening the local health system at selected GPs, Blocks and districts, based on identified policy and operational gaps, and advocacy for appropriate policy changes. * Facilitating active community participation, contribution, monitoring and influencing in developing and implementing health plans at the GP, Block, sub-district and district level * Awareness and ensuring acknowledgement of evidence-based and people centred BHCS programme by communities, district, state and national health authorities, national and international health institutions/organisations and civil society actors involved in health. * Undertaking synergic and collaborative actions of BHCS team with PRI; government health team and private and civil society actors to implement and influence various health programmes (NRHM and health programmes of state) at GP, Block and district level.
