General

The strategy of the Belgian Fund for Food Security (BFFS) is to develop multi-sector, multi-actor programmes that comprehensively and effectively address the structural causes of food insecurity and nutrition in Sub-Saharan Africa, focusing on the vulnerable population groups. The role of coordination and monitoring has been given to Technical Secretariat for Food Security and Nutrition (SETSAN), the Mozambican structure responsible for policy guidance, coordination, monitoring and evaluation of interventions for food and nutrition security nationwide. However, given the complexity of the set-u of the FSNP, and given the limided capacity of the SETSAN and Belgian fund for Food Security (BFFS) to effectively paly this role, SETSAN and the BFFS requested BTC to provide expertise to support the coordination and monitoring of the Food Security and nutrition Programme in 6 districts in Gaza province (FSNP). The Belgian contribution will fund 600 days of expertise during the 5 year implementation period of the Food Security and nutrition Programme in Gaza province (FSNP).

Results

The objective of the provision of expertise is to enhance the capacity of Technical Secretariat for Food Security and Nutrition (SETSAN) to effectively coordinate and monitor the FSNP in Gaza province.
