General

DISOP promotes rural schools managed by family associations and applying a pedagogic approach combining work and academic studies (“alternation pedagogy”): 15 days at school – 15 days in a professional environment. Professional Rural Family Schools (RFS) are part of an international association named IAFMR: International Association of Family Movements for Rural Training. In Mozambique, this type of school is named “Escola Profissional Familiar Rural” (EPFR). The objective of this project is to create 2 EPFRs in the intervention area, in partnership.

Results

1. Families and communities of EPFR ex-students get organized and participate actively in farmer organizations and in district forums on agriculture and food and nutritional safety (FSN). 2. Improved rural livelihoods of vulnerable households : Creation of 2 Professional Rural Family Schools (RFS).
