General
The Energy sector is able to provide sufficient, reliable and affordable energy for all Rwandans. Production and affordable access to sustainable energy remain key challenges of the Rwandan Vision 2020 and Economic Development and Poverty Reduction Strategy II (EDPRS II 2013-2018) through the the Electricity Access Roll-out Program (EARP). Energy became a priority sector of the BE/RWA governmental cooperation program since 2011 (55M€ - ICP 2011-2014).
Results
The access to reliable on-grid electricity services for households ans priority institutions in peri-urban and rural areas is improved.
