Disclaimer: Country borders do not necessarily reflect the Belgian Government's official position.

General

The PROTECTRICE programme—short for “(se) PROTEger ConTRe les violenCEs”—aims to provide strengthened protection to the most vulnerable populations in six countries facing complex humanitarian needs: Burkina Faso, Burundi, Niger, the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), Uganda, and the Occupied Palestinian Territories (OPT). The overall objective of the programme is to enhance the protection of so-called “People on the Move”—individuals forced to flee due to conflict, violence, or humanitarian crises. Through an integrated approach, the programme aims not only to provide immediate protection but also to contribute to structural solutions that strengthen the resilience of individuals and communities.

Results

The specific objective is to ensure that the most vulnerable individuals in the intervention areas are not only better protected against acute threats, but are also able to strengthen their own protection capacities.
