General

In the context of Mali, the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) is providing food and cash-based assistance to over a million food insecure populations affected by conflict and natural disasters. The assistance includes emergency food aid, school feeding, malnutrition prevention and treatment, asset building, livelihood support activities, and capacity strengthening of Mali's government institutions. Monitoring and evaluation are crucial parts of the project cycle, with data collection undertaken by WFP's own monitors as well as third-party monitors. Data is also obtained using digital systems, satellite imagery, and beneficiary feedback mechanisms. The project prioritizes monitoring integrated resilience programming and capacity strengthening activities, while ensuring equal employment opportunities for all employees. The Junior Professional Officer (JPO) Programme Monitoring and Evaluation Officer will contribute to these efforts by supporting the management of third-party monitors, compiling monitoring findings, building evidence on integrated resilience programming, and more. This initiative aims to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness, build donor trust, and facilitate resource mobilization.
