General

Tegen einde 2017 zal het aantal kinderen, pasgeborenen en families die hoge impact gezondheidsinterventies, inbegrepen de voorkoming van “Moeder-Kind Transmissie” (PMTCT) van HIV, nutritie, en WASH genieten, aanzienlijk en billijk toegenomen zijn, in het bijzonder in gezondheidsgebieden en gemeenschappen.

Results

• Gemeenschappen krijgen toegang tot, en gebruiken, drinkwater en sanitaire voorzieningen, eigenen zich verbeterde hygiënepraktijken toe, en zetten zich in om hun gezonde omgeving te beschermen en behouden. • Beheersstructuren in de WASH-sector - nationaal, provinciaal en lokaal - staan een doelmatig beheer en een opvoeren van duurzame WASH-resultaten toe. • Kinderen en families in crisis ontvangen een voorzienbare, tijdige, aanrekenbare, universele, niet-discriminatoire humanitaire WASH-respons.

Other

1. - 47,065 persons living in 40 villages and 10 schools of Kinkondja HZ (Katanga), and 20 villages and 5 schools of Minova HZ in South-Kivu were declared “Healthy” following the norms of the VEA Program. - 60 villages committees and 15 school parent’s groups were developed in order to strength the preparedness and prevention of cholera epidemics and manage the water, sanitation and hygiene systems of their communities. 2. - An external consultant was contracted to support wash emergency and cluster coordination. - Four AWP workshop to eliminate cholera were realized in PO, SK, KK and Katanga Provinces, strengthening States Representative’s capacities at national and local levels. - A network of competent States Representatives, Volunteers, NGOs members has been developed through Cluster activities and is able to implement, monitor and manage the scale up of the VEA Program. 3. - 33 Contingency Plans and 33 simulation exercise took place. - One workshop integrating the Cluster Rapid Assessment Tool was held in Lubumbashi in order to harmonize assessment approaches - Tree PCAs of which two financed by the Belgian Government were signed in order to implement cholera community recovery and fighting programs reaching 55,000 persons.
